「The tales of 12 animals」（12

[The 2027 eto Calendar Has Arrived]

A calendar illustrated by picture book author and illustrator eto

“The Tales of 12 Animals” (12 Animals for 12 Months)

Thanks to your support, we’re celebrating our 17th year!

To everyone who has been using my calendars, and to those who are welcoming one into your home for the first time,

thank you so much.

● A different animal visits every month

This calendar features a different animal every month.

You’ll find familiar animals like dogs and cats, of course, as well as creatures from faraway lands.

They’re enjoying seasonal delicacies,

admiring flowers, or going on adventures!

Each month, try to imagine

what kind of lives they lead.

eto researches each animal’s natural habitat and behaviors,

sketches them, and then illustrates the scenes.

● The annual “hidden object game” is also exciting!♪

Now, whenever you flip the page each month, you’re sure to find

a “tiny door,”

a “tiny key,”

and “three little people—a parent, child, and pet.”

They’re hiding in unexpected places,

so be sure to look very carefully.

You might make all sorts of discoveries while searching for the tiny door!

Around the 15th of each month, I’ll reveal the answers on eto’s Instagram.
I might be a little late sometimes,
but please hang in there with me.

●Here are the animals coming in 2027

January: A Plump Beluga! Happy New Year
February: Raccoon Dog Cake
March: Rabbits and Natural Dyeing
April: Spring with the Alpine Marmot
May: Fox Gloves & Tea Party
June: Which Heron Is It?
July: Camels in Tunisian Vacation
August: The Hermit Crab’s Moving Day
September: The Mice’s Wedding
October: The Dodo Bird and Minerals
November: Bugs Playing Hide-and-Seek in Fallen Leaves
December: Happy Howling Holidays! (Wolves)

● Color schemes that brighten your mood!

When you turn the pages of this calendar,

you’ll feel that fresh sense of,

“Ah, it’s a new month.”

While the illustrated worlds change with each month,

I hope that the colors alone will refresh your spirits

and help you feel more connected to the season.

That’s why, every year, eto carefully selects colors for each of the 12 months.

It might even inspire you to change up your home decor with the changing seasons.
